A Question About Marketing and Clientele

Hello To All,
Hope All is Well,

As the marketing expert, what do you think the key components are that a client would consider most important?

Above all else, even great planning, unique concepts, and interesting branding, the most important thing to any client is what they are going to get out of your marketing plan. Components like Return on Investment (ROI) may hang above all else, because the reason why a client would need to market in the first place is to somehow make more income or establish a new revenue stream of some sort. Before, during, or even after explaining a marketing concept that blends together with the client’s vision, I would expect them to eventually ask, what can we expect to receive from this? The time planning, the concepts and ideas introduced, the channels selected to carry out the plan, it all leads to ROI. I think this is primarily the component that clients will want to know, as well as a marketer, because it measures the overall effectiveness of what you and the client were able to come up with. As a client, there is money to be made and plans to be perfected, for a marketer; there is renown to gain and more clients to impress.

Although it is not essentially a component of a strategy, at least not a written component, adaptation is extremely important to clients. As a marketeering expert, especially one that receives clients and works with them, your expertise needs to augment their vision. Therefore, when a client provides a vision, it is important to them that a marketer is able to take that vision and create or combine ideas to make a well-planned marketing strategy. To explain in a simple way, clients will always want to leave their touch on anything they decided to do, especially if their company is going to be presented and connected to the delivery of the strategy, so as a marketer, it is important to make the vision a reality while including marketing expertise in the mix.

Stadium Wide Wireless Plan to Increase Season Ticket Holders

Hello Everyone,
Hope all is going well,

Marketing Plan for NHL Team

Objective

Develop and establish a fan friendly marketing plan and network app that brings fans a unique experience while accumulating more season ticket holders via marketing.

Tools Required
The stadium's newly acquired wireless technology, the new "Break the Ice" app, and our only fan requirement, a smartphone or device able to connect with the wireless system.

Steps to Take to Achieve Goal

1. The wireless system developed will be offered freely to fans in the stadium and the surrounding area. Any fan, inside and outside the stadium will be able to use the facility-wide Wi-Fi to connect with anyone. This allows fans to have free Internet in theory and anything free is worth getting.

2. Design and perfect an official stadium based app, Break the Ice App, that the sports organization can use for multiple purposes. The login should require personal information from fans with a minimum of their names and e-mails to be given. Each fan will be able to then login using this information with their own personal passwords. They will then be able to use the app to make any purchases during the game, including food and beverage, memorabilia, and of course, season tickets. If seating information is provided, food and beverages and memorabilia can be delivered to the fan personally for a fixed rate. The app will also provide directions to seats, kiosks, food stands, and other areas of the stadium among other tools that fans can use to make their experience even more unique.

3. Run a fixed time promotion for the launch of the app and new digital wireless system that awards fans for using each. Whenever the app is opened, a clearly seen box under the home screen will announce the promotion, a season ticket reward program. This program will track the purchases a fan makes and reward them on the amount of money they spent. This money spent will calibrated into a certain percentage discount off season tickets for the following season. The highest possible reward will be 20% off season tickets for the next season, requiring fans to spend at least $200 during game time across the whole season, which is subject to change accordingly to way out giveaways with total income. Fans who do not sign up for the app will still be able to achieve this offer, as marketing promotions will be placed across the stadium for this program and how to take place in it without the app.

In Conclusion

Implementing the use of free Wi-Fi for fans, a fan friendly stadium app, and a promotion to vastly boost the sale of season tickets, more and more fans should be in the stadium every night with an improved amount of them being season ticket holders.

Thoughts on Wireless Network Design: Stadiums

A stadium is a massive structure, meant to seat thousands of screaming fans while athletes, performers, and the like give those fans something to scream about. The question is when designing a stadium, and more specifically, when designing a network for a stadium, how do we take each fan and make them feel like they are having a valuable experience tailored to them while still making them feel like they, and all the other fans, are a member of their own community? There are a few things to consider to make the fans filling up the seats continue to do so and keep them coming back. In other words, how does one balance comfort with convenience in a stadium of thousands, specifically network wise. The answer, keep everyone connected.
While looking through Cisco’s network system for stadiums, a lot of ideas arise. First and foremost, there are essentials. Any stadium needs to be modernized and have Wi-Fi set up so fans can stay connected to social media, e-mail, and any other social tool they may use. I personally think a great stadium network should include the parking lots, rewarding tailgaters and people in line for the entry. With that being said, lets take a look at some unique twists that would make a stadium a more exciting and unique experience for any fan.
A stadium wide app would be a great idea for fans and the organization alike. For both Apple and Droid users, the app would release interactive features and convenient tools for every fan to use. The first tool, although limited to certain smart phones, would be a virtual reality feature, utilizing the fan’s camera to help them learn of the stadium’s structure. The tool would allow the fan to scope the camera lens over any seats of the stadium, revealing digital information on each seat, including the section, seat number, average price of ticket, and closest food/beverage/restroom facility. Another tool provided by the app would be the pregame stadium scavenger hunt. For the early birds who come to the game early to beat the crowd and find their seats among a sea of empty ones, a scavenger hunt will take place, putting fans in a less busy side of the stadium where they will search for QR codes placed on the walls next to various sports gear. When the QR codes are scanned, the fans will receive a random fact about the related sports gear. The fans will then meet with the scavenger hunt representative on hand. This representative will say one of the random facts about the gear, and the fans will then have to guess which piece of gear he/she is talking about. The rewards can be varied each game, including free food or drink vouchers, or a free piece of memorabilia. The last tool I will discuss is the use of GPS in the stadium. If a fan wishes to, they may use the app to order any foods or drinks they want during the game without ever leaving their seats. They can either choose to order the food and then pick it up, or for an extra fixed sum, they may use the GPS on their phone so their seat location is revealed. This would allow stadium workers to personally deliver their food, allowing them to stay seated and into the game.
In theory, a stadium is a massive living room, where you watch in comfort, the sport or event of your choice. Having the same or at least similar privileges than the ones you would have watching at home can transcend further the joy and excitement of attending a live event. It is one of the reasons why convenience is so important for fans attending a game, because watching at home is where you are at your most convenient state. With these network options, as well as few other tweaks, a stadium could be even better for the housing of thousands and great show on the field.

What Wireless Technology Has Had The Greatest Impact on Society Today?

Hello!

In truth, there has been so much technological advancement across the world, and much like everything else affected by this, wireless technology has become overly convenient to use, learn, and master. It is hard to pick one piece of technology being more important than the rest, simply because all technology was and is created in a chain. As in, one thing being invented leads to another related thing being invented as an improvement to the last. I could say computer, which chain lead to laptops, tablets, and even smart phones. I could say radio, which was the main means of communication for years and played a massive important role in our nation’s history, America, as Franklin Delano Roosevelt used radio to deliver his fireside chats. I could say TV has been widely important, as it gave everyone a chance to see and hear media, and it remains ever so popular today. I could also say the telephone, as it lead to many various means of communication, including cell-phones, car-phones, smartphones, and other great innovative products. If I were to select one wireless technology that transcended communication, enhanced convenience, and changed the way society today does things drastically, it would have to be the smartphone.

The technology that a smartphone introduced, from its beginning and up until now, is astounding. Although the development of smartphones can be tied to the evolution of cell phones, radios, and computers, nothing affects our society today as much as a smartphone. Simply said, the ability to have a computer in your pocket and to use that pocket computer no matter where you are to find anything you want is unbelievable. It can be said that a smartphone has become a person’s connection to the rest of the world, as you can see news, advertising, social media, sports scores, business schedules, and millions of other things all on a high definition screen that first comfortable in your pocket or hand bag. There will never be another moment where your curiosity will not be answered, because your second brain is less than an arm’s length away. Today’s society is all about convenient ways for consumers to live and easy ways for marketers to reach consumers. I do not think that there is a more effective way of doing both of those conjointly than the way it can be done through mobile means using a smartphone.

Disclaimer – Although smartphones are the specific technology making the biggest impact right now and have really shaped our society today, as we know it (think about how many times you see someone using a smartphone daily or even how many times you use your own if you have one), I think overall, computers may be the most impressive and important technological advancement that has even been made across all technologies. Specifically though, even though they have been around for far less than the other wireless technology available over the years, smartphones have reshaped everything in the matter of a few years, causing lifestyle changes and a massive amount of new content to view, listen to, and share.

A Message From Clint Dempsey

Disclaimer - This is purely fictitious and is being done for a school assignment. Clint Dempsey had nothing to do with this, beside being chosen as a spokesperson for this assignment. This was actually written by me, Joe Goense.

Hello All!

Clint Dempsey here with a message for you, the fans! We at MLS need your help for a competition of epic proportions. MLS is challenging the Super League, China’s top-tier soccer league. Much like MLS, the Super League is full of exciting, skillful players, much like myself……sorry just messing around. As I was saying, much like MLS, the Super League is full of loyal, exciting, top-tier fans. The cheers, claps, and respect of the millions of fans who follow us fuel both us players here and players over there. Let me take this time to thank you all, but there are more serious things for us to talk about today, like I said, we need your help.

This challenge between the Super League and MLS is scheduled to start two months from now on November 11th.  This challenge requires you, the fans, to vote in your top four favorite teams from MLS to face the top four voted in teams of Super League. The four teams that you choose will the verse each other with the top voted team versing the fourth voted team, the second versing the third, and then the winners of each versing each other. The last team standing will then verse the best the Super League has to offer, their last team standing. In other words, the fans have the power to determine how this tournament goes; as you will be selecting what teams will represent MLS in this battle of leagues. Now I know all who read this would immediately pick the Seattle Sounders into the tournament, which is totally fine by me. I mean, we do need to win this thing don’t we? All joking around aside, any MLS teams you vote for will give it their all as we represent you in our fight with a rival league. Though it may be us out on the pitch and you in the stands in a literal sense, it is all about you guys and gals, as the architects of this whole thing.

So, get voting! The MLS ballots will be open next Friday, September 19th, at 1:00 PM and will remain open until Friday, October 24th. You will be asked to vote for your top four choices, in order from one to four, with one being your absolute favorite. The votes will be revealed Saturday, October 25th and we start this fight together on November 11th. There have been bets among us players and coaches of what teams will get in and how many votes we will get. Don’t let us down, vote!

Look out for personal messages from other MLS stars like Graham Zusi, Landon Donovan, and Thierry Henry.

Go Sounders!
